This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region include “Spamalot: The Musical” in Beaumont and “Madame Butterfly” in Houston.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host the Houston Ballet for its production of “Madame Butterfly”, this week.

Performances are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

Beaumont Community Players will kick off its production of “Spamalot: The Musical” on Friday at 7:30 at the Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts.

An additional performance is on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The show runs through May 27.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will host Arlo Guthrie in concert on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Known to generations as a prolific songwriter, social commentator, master storyteller, actor, and activist, Arlo – son of legendary American folk musician Woody Guthrie– grew up surrounded by such renowned artists as Pete Seeger, Sonny Terry, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott." News Release

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in Galveston will kick off its production of “The Foreigner” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through May 27.

Playhouse 1960 in Houston will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged” on Friday at 8 p.m. An additional performance is on Saturday at 8 p.m. Performances continue through May 27.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues with Arthur Miller’s “A View from the Bridge” this week.

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m. Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and7:30 p.m. The show runs through May 21.

Upcoming performances include “Little Shop of Horrors”, opening May 26 at Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay in place of “Pippin”, which was cancelled, and “Fun Home”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars in Houston and opening May 16 at the Hobby Center.
