Webber has partnered with Lone Star College to provide job training using a $780,462 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the Greater Dallas, Gulf Coast, South Plains and Panhandle Texas areas.

This grant will be used to provide customized training for 347 new and incumbent workers for construction site concrete building, large equipment operations and roadway construction. Trainees will include equipment operators, form builders and setters, surveyors, and concrete finishers. After successful completion of the training, trainees may be eligible for a Heavy Equipment Operation certification. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $28.36.

TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Ruth R. Hughs will present a check to representatives from Webber and Lone Star College at a 10 a.m. ceremony to be held in the boardroom of the Training and Development Center at 5000 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands.
