Nassau Bay City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve the 2016 Flood Elevation Project Grant agreement with the Texas Water Development Board.

The city will receive $5.8 million for eligible work related to the grant.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an engagement letter with Belt Harris Pechacek, LLLP to provide a complete audit of the city's financial statements for fiscal years 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Nancee Lynne to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Lynne will fill an unexpired terms held by Pamela Philips.

The city council voted 6-1, with Bob Warters opposed, to grant a request by Arafat Abdullatif for a special use permit to operate an automotive repair shop at 1910 NASA Parkway.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an agreement with Jeffrey S. Ward & Associates to provide consulting services for grant project management.

The city council voted 6-0-1, with Amdur abstaining, to appoint and reappoint members to the Nassau Bay Economic Development Corporation.

Amdur, John Mahon and Cindy Harreld-DeWease were reappointed, and Matt Prior was appointed to the corporation's board of directors.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
