Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to appoint underwriters for the county's proposed issuance of certificates of obligation related to the FM 1093/Westpark Project.

The recommended underwriters included RBC Capital Markets, LLC, as senior manager, with Loop Capital Markets, LLC and Rice Financial Products Co. as co-managers.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve an engagement letter with Allen Boone Humprhies Robinson, LLC for bond counsel services and an engagement letter with Andrews Kurth Kenyon, LLP regarding special disclosure counsel services for the issuance of certificates of obligation related to the FM 1093/Westpark Project.

The commissioners court took no action regarding acceptance of the traffic control plan for Sansbury Boulevard at Grand Estates Drive. A public hearing was held regarding the item.

The commissioners court took no action regarding authorization to advertise for bids for in-theater advertising for the Health & Human Services Department.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny several requests for waivers of penalty and interest on property taxes, including:

  • A request by Fort Bend Habitat for Humanity to waive $759.47 for Tax Year 2015
  • A request by Fort Bend Habitat for Humanity to waive $974.93 for Tax Year 2015
  • A request by Hongwei Fu to waive $440.73 on property at 7907 Shadow Dance Lane for Tax Year 2016
  • A request by Hongwei Fu to waive $126.01 on property at 2915 Lake Drive for Tax Year 2016
  • A request by Jinwen Song to waive $615.96 for Tax Year 2016
  • A request by Paresh Sheth to wave $566.78 for Tax Year 2016
  • A request by Larry W. Harrison to waive $702.83 for Tax Year 2016
  • A request by Carl Meisner to wave $482.31 for Tax Years 2013, 2014 and 2015

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize, by record vote, eminent domain proceedings for the acquisition of property related to the Doris Road Mobility Bond Project.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize, by record vote, eminent domain proceedings for property related to the Katy-Flewellen Road Mobility Bond Project.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize, by record vote, eminent domain proceedings for property related to the Drainage Ditch for Katy-Flewellen Road.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize, by record vote, eminent domain proceedings for property related to the Spring Green Boulevard Mobility Bond Project.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a proposal to Paradigm Contractors for the Missouri City Branch Library Expansion and Renovation Project.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a proposal to Vertical Bridge Development for the lease of property located off Addicks Clodine Road for wireless communication purposes.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reject all bids and re-advertise a design/build contract for the Animal Services Expansion, Phase II project.

The commissioners court held a workshop with the Fire Marshal's Office to discuss the county's authority to establish rules for junkyards and automotive wrecking and salvage yards. Listen (26:05)

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a motion regarding pending or contemplated litigation in the matter of The Estate of Emanuel Earl Baines and Roynecia Baines, Individually vs. Fort Bend County, Texas, and Milton Wright, Fort Bend County Sheriff, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding the Scanlan House Report.
