Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County for improvements to Knight Road.

Under the agreement, the county will provide up to $2.8 million, through mobility bond funds approved in 2013, toward design and construction of the project, approximately 50 percent of the total project cost. The city will pay the remaining 50 percent as part of the Five-Year Capital Improvements Plan.

The project will give residents of Sienna Plantation an alternate north/south route to connect State Highway 6 and the Fort Bend Parkway.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County for improvements to Independence Boulevard, Segment 2.

The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Loveless Mitchel, Wilfred Green and Curtis Williams to the Missouri City Management District No. 1 Board of Directors.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the purchase of fleet vehicles. The purchase includes a total of 34 replacement vehicles, with $1,449,948 in costs to be paid through the fleet replacement fund, and $41,649 to be paid through the PEG/Missouri City TV fund.

The city council held the first of two public hearings regarding proposed amendments to the 2009 Comprehensive Plan.
