College of the Mainland Board of Trustees

The College of the Mainland Board of Trustees on Tuesday elected Kyle Dickson as chair of the board.

Alan Waters was elected as vice-chair, and Rosalie Kettler was re-elected as board secretary.

The board voted to extend a lease at 320 Delany Road, the Gulf Coast Safety Institute facility, for one year.

The board voted to award a contract to Restoration Services to provide building repairs and weatherproofing for six campus buildings.

The buildings to receive work through the contract are the administration building, the campus police department, the north industrial education building, south industrial education building, the facilities building and the gun range.

The board voted to approve the installation of 12 additional welding booths with air filtration.

The board voted to adopt a resolution electing to become eligible to participate in tax abatement.

The board voted to adopt tax abatement criteria.

During the meeting, Melissa Skipworth took her oath of office as the new trustee for Position 5. Skipworth won the June 17 runoff election for the position, and succeeds Roney McCrary.
