H-GAC Accepting Applications for Parks and Natural Areas Awards
The Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking applications for the 2017 Parks and Natural Areas Awards. The deadline to apply is Thursday, September 7, 2017.
The Parks and Natural Area Awards recognize projects that serve as regional models for how parks can improve water quality, habitat, and quality of life.
Awards will be given in four categories: On-the-Ground Projects over $500,000; On-the-Ground Projects under $500,000; Planning; and Policy Tools.
Any public, private, or nonprofit organization may apply. There is no entry fee. Submittals in any category must be for activities completed between September 1, 2015, and August 29, 2017 in the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Harris, Galveston, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton.
