The Board of Trustees of the Galveston Wharves today voted unanimously to hire John Manlove Marketing and Communications as a consultant to guide Port of Galveston staff through the development of a strategic plan.

Manlove, a former wharves board member and a former Mayor of Pasadena, and his firm emerged out of a field of three candidates which included AECOM and Rathburn Planning & Consulting. Each entity made a presentation before the board prior to the vote.

Vice Chair Albert Shannon commended all three on their presentations. Trustee Elizabeth Beeton said each brought a different approach. Listen (1:35)
