The Port of Orange Board of Commissioners on Friday voted unanimously to accept the audited financial statements for FY2017 as presented by the firm of Keri Michutka.

The port received a clean opinion from the audit, the highest assurance that the port's financial statements accurately reflected its financial position for the year.

The board voted to approve a tax abatement agreement for specific properties in an agreement with the City of Vidor.

The properties receive a 7-year abatement under the program, which was initiated by the city. The port participates in the abatements.

The board voted to approve a fund balance policy in accordance with rules set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

The board voted to renew a lease with Northstar Group Services, Inc. for space at the Childers Road offices, as discussed in executive session.

The board voted to ratify a local agreement with Orange County to provide space for various volunteer groups during the recovery from Hurricane Harvey. The item was approved with an addendum to utilize additional warehouse building space to accommodate groups, as discussed in closed session.

No other action was taken from items discussed in closed session.
