The Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council today voted unanimously to approve a set of amendments to the 2017-2020 Transportation Improvement Program and the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan.
These amendments perform the following:
- Program the Lynchburg Ferry Rehabilitation and Improvement Project into the TIP using funds allocated to Harris County by formula through the FHWA Ferry Boat Program.
- Program four projects into the TIP using Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program funds awarded by the Texas Transportation Commission.
- Change sponsorship of two Gulf Coast Rail District West Belt Railroad underpasses to the City of Houston, add ROW phase and delay to FY 2020 and FY 2021. No change is proposed to the funding previously awarded.
- Change sponsorship of Fort Bend County FM 1093/FM 359 widening projects to TXDOT Houston District and use Category-2 state funding for current costs.
- Increase funding to cover cost overrun on City of Pearland Max Road widening project on a 50/50 basis.
The TPC voted unanimously to approve an amendment to the 2018-2019 Unified Planning Work Program.
The amendment proposes to make the following changes:
- Address comments from the Federal Highway Administration.
- Add $25,000 in FTA funding to Subtask 4.3 for monitoring and planning support for the implementation of priority projects identified in the Regionally Coordinated Transportation Plan (RCTP).
