Port of Orange Board of Commissioners

The Port of Orange Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to appoint John Montagne to fill the vacancy in Precinct 3 on the board.

Commissioner Jimmy A. “Jimmy” Smith resigned from his position in Precinct 3 due to moving out of the county. Montagne will serve the remaining two years of Smith's term.

The board ordered an election for May 5 to elect three positions on the board.

Commissioners Keith Wallace in Precinct 1, John Young in Precinct 4, and Jerry Hughes, who serves in an At-Large Position, have terms expiring in May.

The board voted to award a $39,660 contract to RailWorks for the Alabama Street Terminal rail repairs due to flooding from the Sabine River.

The board voted to approve leasing a warehouse to KPI, LLC at the Pier Road Terminal Complex, as discussed in closed session.

The board took no action resulting from any other items discussed in closed session.

All action items were approved by unanimous vote. Commissioners Hughes and Smith were not present. Agenda
