The Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council on Friday voted unanimously to ratify a letter to the Texas Department of Transportation regarding the construction of four direct connectors between the tolled lanes of SH 99 and SH 249.

The letter, written by H-GAC MPO Director Alan Clark, requests that further processing of the TPC amendment advancing the SH 99/SH 249 direct connectors be delayed and TxDOT proceed with processing all other TIP amendments still pending action. Item Summary

The policy council voted unanimously to recognize the service of late Houston City Council Member Larry Green to the group. Green, who was the inaugural officeholder of Houston City Council District K, passed away earlier this month. Resolution

The policy council voted unanimously to approve the following two recommendations of the TPC Nominating Committee:

  • Appointment of Ms. Maureen Croker (City of Houston) to the Alternate position for the Intermodal Interests position vacated by Mr. Carlos Ortiz.
  • Advancement of Mr. Richard Zientek (Union Pacific RR), from Alternate to Primary member for a second Intermodal Interests position vacated by Mr. Clark Martinson.
