Acadian French Youth Choir Visit to Visit St. Martinville

Acadiana will be graced by the visit of Les Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie from April 25 to May 1..  Les Jeunes Chanteurs is a French language youth chorale of 50 members based in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada.  The group is marking its 50th anniversary and will be celebrating with a visit to their Cajun cousins in Louisiana. 

​On April 28, they will visit the Acadian Memorial in the afternoon and perform a concert at 5pm in Saint Martin de Tours Catholic Church.   ​The concert is free and open to the public.   

​Other ​Highlights of the visit include: 

April 25:  Workshops at Myrtle Place Elementary & 6:30PM performance at Randol’s Restaurant

April 26:  Visit to Vermilionville & 7:15PM Opening Ceremonies at the Festival International accompanying Zachary Richard

April 28:  Visit to Acadian Memorial & 5PM Concert at Saint Martin de Tours Catholic Church in Saint Martinville

April 29:  11AM High Mass at Saint John’s Cathedral & 1:45PM Performance Festival international, Scène des Jeunes.   

Be sure to catch Les Jeunes Chanteurs during their once in a lifetime visit to Acadiana.   

A documentary film crew from Radio Canada will be following Les Jeunes Chanteurs for a television documentary to be in in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the group.
