Sugar Land City Council

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of $6,055,000 in tax bonds by the Imperial Redevelopment District.

Proceeds from the bonds will be used by the redevelopment district to pay for construction of Imperial Lift Station No. 2 and 3, geotechnical work, surveys, stormwater protection plan fees, energy fees, and land costs. A total of $1,200,726 will be used for non-construction costs.

The city council voted to adopt a resolution naming The Main Street Bridge as the Annette Williamson Wise Bridge.

Wise was a long-time artist who helped preserve and document the city's history. News Release

The city council voted to accept the FY2018 and FY2019 Houston-Galveston Area Council Solid Waste Implementation Grant and approve a revenue and expenditure budget amendment in the amount of $24,970.

The funds from the grant will be used to implement a recycling awareness and education campaign.
