Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the appointment of a criminal associate judge to replace Judge Leonard Giblin.

The Criminal Judge will select the appointee to replace Giblin, who is retiring from his position. The appointee will be paid at the same rate.

The commissioners court voted to rescind the award of the purchase of a Doosan Model G-25 Pneumatic Tire Forklift to Associated Supply Company, Inc. The company had provided a price of $25,586 for the forklift, which was to replace equipment damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The commissioners court voted to re-award the purchase, in the amount of $31,995, to Briggs Equipment.

The commissioners court voted to approve an agreement with Terracon for pavement engineering services for the re-design of the Major Drive Extension, in an amount of $34,000.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution in support of regulation of game rooms. The resolution urges state officials to consider specific legislation to extend legislative authority to Jefferson County to regulate game rooms. Resolution

All action items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Eddie Arnold absent. Agenda

Immediately following the meeting, the commissioners court held a workshop to discuss the 404 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and to consider projects to be submitted to the state for consideration.
