Texas City’s spring Art Walk
Report by Ruth Ann Ruiz
Sunday, April 22, 2018

Texas City Art WalkTexas City’s spring Art Walk filled with artists, musicians, families, pets and city leaders was held on 6th St in Texas City on Thursday.

One artist came from Houston to showcase his paintings in his first ever Art Walk. Children enjoyed face painting, a jumping castle, and creating their own art. Food vendors provided options from hamburgers to burritos to samples of beer, ice cream and frozen drinks packed with protein.

Texas City has held an annual art festival for 19 years and recently has begun developing a bi-yearly art walk. One walk is held in the spring with the second held in the fall. “We are a work in progress and welcome suggestions,” said JoAnn Hackbarth, coordinator of the participating artists.

“We had a nice group of people coming out this evening. And we are really pleased with the progress of Art Walk on 6th Street,” commented Texas City Mayor Matt Doyle.
