The Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council on Friday voted unanimously to approve a set of amendments to the 2017-2020 Transportation Improvement Program and the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan.

The amendments will do the following:

  • Program Transportation Development Credits for the FY 2018 Commuter and Transit Pilot Program and combine funds from the FY 2020 program year.
  • Update Fort Bend County Transit’s FY 2017 FTA formula funding based on the amounts approved by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County’s Board of Directors at their January 25, 2018 meeting.

The TPC voted unanimously to approve an amendment to the 2018-2019 Unified Planning Work Program.

The amendment will increase the Transportation Planning Funding amount in Subtask 3.1 for software to be used for economic impact analysis, project cost benefit analysis and regional forecasting.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously. The TPC achieved a quorum of 22 members. Agenda Attendance

The policy council listened to an update on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement of the proposed High-Speed Rail between Houston and Dallas provided by Michael J. Moore with Texas Central Partners, LLC. Listen (24:12)
