Remembering Jim Guidry Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership
Galveston County
Clear Lake Shores City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, May 02, 2018

Clear Lake Shores City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a resolution requesting that the state seek a waiver to the 70 percent overall benefit requirement and propose that 50 percent of Houston and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Diaster Recovery Funds be used to support low and moderate income persons and supporting Galveston County's efforts in seeking the waiver.

The waiver relates to funding for recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

The city council voted 4-1, with Bryan Hoerner opposed, to approve amendments to the city's Juvenile Curfew Ordinance to be put in place by the city's attorney prior to renewal of the ordinance.

Changes included changing curfew hours from ending at 5 a.m. as opposed to 6 a.m., and to add under defenses that a minor can be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a payment of $34,105 to True North Emergency Management for debris removal from Hurricane Harvey.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
