This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “Young Frankenstein” in Beaumont and “Don Quixote” in Houston.

Beaumont Community Players will kick off its production of the musical “Young Frankenstein”, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Betty Greenberg Center in Beaumont.

An additional performance is on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The production runs through May 26.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host the Houston Ballet this week for its production of “Don Quixote.”

Performances are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present Blood Sweat and Tears in concert on Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The band is on its 50th anniversary tour.

“One of the top touring attractions of the past five decades. Blood Sweat & Tears combined rock, blues, and pop music, with horn arrangements and jazz improvisation to create a musical hybrid known as ‘jazz-rock,’” said a news release. News Release

The Alley Theatre in Houston will open its production of “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” on Friday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through June 3.

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in Galveston will kick off “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” on Friday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through May 26.

Main Street Theater in Houston will present a preview performance of “Daddy Long Legs” on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show officially opens on May 19 and runs through June 17.

Upcoming performances include “God’s Man in Texas”, opening May 17 at College of the Mainland Community Theatre, and “Beauty and the Beast”, opening May 18 at Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay.
