Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve the creation of the Brazoria County Industrial Development Corporation.

The corporation will act on behalf of the county in the promotion and development of commercial, industrial and manufacturing enterprises.

The commissioners court voted 4-1, with Commissioner Stacy Adams opposed, to award a $219,800 contract to A&E Services for architectural and engineering services related to the Lake Jackson Annex.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation declaring May as Motorcyle Safety and Awareness Month.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation declaring May 13-19 as National Police Week.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation declaring May as Older Americans Month.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to grant permission to Dole Fresh Fruit Company to use and occupy Brazoria County Fairground Property for the temporary staging of equipment in the event of a major storm evacuation event for 2018 and 2019.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Lizeth Sitta to the Brazoria County Children's Protective Services Board.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve the placement of “No Visible Wake” signs on Bastrop Bayou.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from closed session discussions regarding potential litigation, the lease of real property and the potential purchase of property.
