Galveston County Police Week Memorial Service

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office hosted the Police Week Law Enforcement Memorial Service Thursday, May 17 at the Joe Max Taylor Galveston Law Enforcement Facility in Galveston.

The ceremony was called to order by Galveston County Sheriff Major Barry Cook. Galveston Police Officer Carl Lomax called the officers to attention. Pastor Robert Dowdy gave the invocation. Gisella Alcala sang the National Anthem. Major Barry cook led the Pledge of Allegiance. Listen (24:17)

10th District Court Judge Kerry L. Neves delivered the keynote address. The Memorial Wreath was placed, the roll call for Fallen Officers was read. A moment of silence was held following. UTMB Officer Stanley Fontenot played bagpipes while Galveston Police Officer Charles Dodson led the Riderless Horse.

Galveston County Sheriff Corporal N. Gills played Taps. Galveston Police Telecommunicator L. Duvall did the Last Call.

Pastor Robert Dowdy said a Benediction, Major Barry Cook delivered final remarks. Officer Lomax dismissed the officers to close the event.
