Jefferson County Commissioners Court
by Garrett Bryce
Monday, June 11, 2018

Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to issue a notice of intent for hazard mitigation projects for Ford Park, the airport, and emergency sheltering.

The intent for part of the project is to construct a hardened shelter/dome facility to serve as a shelter during emergency events. The structure would be built in partnership with a school district and serve as a gymnasium or other multi-use facility.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to temporarily suspend services and rental payments from Spurs Booth Shine for the operation of a shoe shine concession for the county for a two-month period at the contractor’s request.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to renew the agreement with Spurs Boot Shine for operation of a shoe shine concession for one year.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to downgrade a financial manager position, and to improve increases for two other financial manager positions, three financial analyst positions, and the first assistant county auditor position. The changes will result in a net savings of $2,439.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a 90-day extension of a due diligence period for the lease of airport property by GLOW Investments, Inc.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding receipt of the proposed Juvenile Probation budget for FY2019. The item will be considered at the next commissioners court meeting.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
