Beaumont Announces First Annual #EATBMT Restaurant Week
Press Release
Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Beaumont, Texas (June 2018) – The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Sabine Area Restaurant Association (S.A.R.A.) are proud to announce the first annual #EATBMT Restaurant Week scheduled August 26 - September 2, 2018. The weeklong event will showcase local restaurants throughout the Golden Triangle and celebrate what Southeast Texas knows best – food. Participating restaurants will offer special fixed menus priced at $10, $20, and $40.

“The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau has been adamant about promoting our local food scene,” said Tourism Development Coordinator, Christina Majdalani. “The CVB launched its #EATBMT culinary tourism campaign in February and we are so thrilled to now offer another way for the community to indulge in the local food scene. Restaurant Week is a mouthwatering way to support locally-owned and operated restaurants in Southeast Texas!”

Submission deadline for restaurants wanting to participate in Beaumont’s EATBMT Restaurant Week is July 10, 2018. Registration information and program details are found online at:

A portion of sales from #EATBMT Restaurant Week menu items will benefit scholarships for local students in the Lamar University Hospitality Management Program. Participating restaurants will be featured on the CVB website, receive #EATBMT Restaurant Week merchandise and over $12,000 worth of marketing efforts on behalf of the Beaumont CVB and S.A.R.A.

“The opportunity to work with the CVB on an event like this is great for our mission as the Sabine Area Restaurant Association,” stated S.A.R.A. President Jay Jenkinson. “We work hard to help support scholarships for the Lamar University Hospitality Management Program, the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation, and education and professional development for the Texas Chefs Association. This event will not only shed light on what amazing restaurants are in our area, but will also help some amazing organizations.”

Finishing off #EATBMT Restaurant Week, S.A.R.A. and the Beaumont CVB will name three winners for top performance with The Golden Fork, The Golden Spoon and the Golden Knife Awards. The Golden Fork will be awarded to the restaurant with the highest EATBMT Restaurant Week menu item sales. The Golden Knife will be awarded to the restaurant with the most menu items sold, and the Golden Spoon will be awarded to the restaurant with the highest sales percentage increase. Award winners will also receive the production of a 30-second commercial spot from KFDM that will run for one month.

Local restaurants interested in participating in Beaumont’s EATBMT Restaurant Week should visit or contact CVB Tourism Development Coordinator, Christina Majdalani, with any questions at, or 409-880-3168.
