2019 BOOMTOWN FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL
News Release
Sunday, June 24, 2018

Beaumont, Texas –The Boomtown Film and Music Festival is excited to announce that our submissions are open! We are accepting films that short or feature length in categories such as music video, documentary, and the student category. We have special ‘Texan Proud’ category to put a spotlight on the talent bustling in our great state! Additionally, we’ve created a new category “Reel Faith” that promotes faith based story telling (whatever your definition of faith).

"Each year we're more and more impressed with the different ways filmmakers are using moving pictures to tell their story,” says Executive Director of the Boomtown Film and Music Festival, Chase Kiker. “To honor their hard work and creativity we've added new categories to our film contest and can't wait to see the results!"

Submissions opened on June 21th and will remain open until December 21st. To enter, filmmakers can find us on Film Freeway dot com. Pricing for each category varies from $7 to $35 depending on when the project is submitted. The ‘Early Bird’ pricing is the best opportunity to save money and get your work seen ahead of the game, but it ends on July 21st! Winners in each category and best in show will be awarded the coveted "Gusher" trophy. The Screenplay Awards have been brought back this year with the the Feature Screenplay receiving a staged reading performed at the festival.

The Boomtown Film and Music Festival has been a great opportunity to showcase local talent, interact with other filmmakers, and have a big city festival experience right here at home. In recent years we premiered Janis: Little Girl Blue in the historic Jefferson Theatre and Oscar nominated animated short Borrowed Time along with films submitted to the festival from Beaumont Texas to Paris, France to Los Angeles California.

In our 12th year, The Boomtown Film & Music Festival is Southeast Texas’ longest running event dedicated to fiercely independent films and cutting edge musical acts. The festival prides itself on bringing regional, national, and even international talent to our local screens and stages.
