Pearland City Council

Pearland City Council on Monday voted 5-1, with Tony Carbone opposed, to publish a notice of intent to issue certificates of obligation totaling $7,534,168 for the design, acquisition, construction and improvement of public works not funded under the 2007 bond referendum.

The total sale amount has been revised down from $8,583,983. Projects to be funded from bond proceeds include the Shadow Creek Ranch Trail, the Green Tee Terrace Trail, Fire Station No. 8, Fire Station No. 1, Fire Station No. 7, intersection improvements and other items.

The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Associate Judge Catherine Samaan.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Kaushik Bhagwanji to the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board.

The city council voted unanimously to renew a contract for audit services with Whitley Penn, in the amount of $75,300.

The city council voted unanimously to award a $1,068,480 unit supply contract to Core and Main Supply for fittings, valves and couplings.

The city council voted unanimously to renew employee health insurance benefits for stop loss and administration services with Cigna, awarding employee dental insurance to Cigna and awarding the employee vision plan benefits to UNUM for FY2019.

During a special meeting prior to the regular meeting, the city council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the June 16 Runoff Election.
