Friendswood ranks well in a post-Harvey analysis
News Release
Thursday, June 28, 2018

Following their analysis of government data and consumer reviews, using “advanced algorithms and statistical techniques,” Niche.com has recently ranked Friendswood as the 25th “Best Suburb to Live in Texas.” That is unchanged from a year ago.

Niche.com defines “suburb” as “A place located within a Census-defined urbanized area, but outside the principal city with a population of at least 1,000.”

Earlier this year, Niche.com announced Friendswood as the 7th Safest Suburb in the Houston area, and prior to that, the 9th Best Suburb to Raise a Family in Houston area.

“This analysis and ranking equal to last year’s being completed after Hurricane Harvey, is a great compliment to everyone in the community who has faced adversity and bounced back. It’s another occasion to thank the people who didn’t experience terrible damage, yet immediately helped others who did. It indicates that the phrase ‘Friendswood Strong’ is more than a recovery slogan; it is a statistical fact,” said Friendswood Mayor Mike Foreman. “It’s another of the many reasons why I am proud of the people who make Friendswood a great place to live.”
