Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize County Judge Jeff Branick to file to participate in the class action lawsuit of Kane County, Utah vs. United States, for recovery of payments in lieu of taxes for the years of 2015, 2016 and/or 2017.

The case is before the United States Court of Federal Claims to receive funds underpaid through the Payment in Lieu of Taxes Act.

The commissioners court voted to approve a loan and financing agreement with Whitney Cultural Education Facilities Finance Corporation and First National Bank, N.A. to finance acquisition, construction, renovation and equipping of the Erhart School in Beaumont.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution permitting the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an auction to sell property currently held by the county and the entities for which it collects.

The auction will be held on the first Tuesday of September.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a proclamation for Save Our Children.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Brent Weaver absent. Agenda
