La Porte City Council on Monday voted unanimously to submit an application to the Texas General Land Office for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program for the 2015 floods and storms.

The city is seeking $325,775 from the General Land Office to applying to utilize the funding for drainage improvements within the Northside Neighbornood, within the Little Cedar Bayou Watershed.

The city council voted unanimously to apply to the Texas Water Development Board for FY2019 Flood Protection Grant funds.

The city is seeking $250,000 in grant funds, with a local match of $250,000, for drainage studies for the city.

The city council voted unanimously to postpone action regarding condemnation of a building at 9906 Rocky Hollow. The item will be considered at the August 13 city council meeting.

The city council discussed, but took no action regarding a report received from the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region.

The city council took no action resulting from executive session discussion regarding industrial district agreements.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Jay Martin was absent. Agenda
