Mike Sullivan Files for Lone Star College Board Seat
News Release
Tuesday, July 24, 2018

Mike Sullivan, a longtime conservative and native Houstonian, filed for election to the District 8 seat on the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees. “I am proud to be an alum of Lone Star College-Kingwood, and look forward to delivering my message to voters on fiscal responsibility, program and curriculum that prepares students for a dynamic future in an ever changing workforce, and providing an affordable education”, said Sullivan.

Mike Sullivan has early endorsements from Texas State Senators Brandon Creighton and Paul Bettencourt; State Representatives Mike Schofield, Dennis Paul, and Dan Huberty; Houston City Council Member Dave Martin; Humble ISD board members Robert Sitton and Keith Lapeze; Humble Mayor Merle Aaron; Constable Mark Herman; retired Humble ISD superintendent Guy Sconzo, and many community leaders, activists, and precinct chairs.

Sullivan has a history of public service that makes him uniquely qualified for the Lone Star College board. “I previously served as a member of the Humble ISD Board of Trustees, a Houston City Council Member, and as Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector. I pride myself on my history of fighting for taxpayers, utilizing my strong business experience, and never forgetting that I am there to serve the public, not the other way around”, commented Sullivan.

District 8 includes Kingwood, Atascocita, Humble, Walden, Summerwood, Porter, and New Caney communities. “I worked hard to represent many of these areas in my 12 years as an elected official”, said Sullivan. “I know these areas well, and the issues even better. I look forward to taking my experience to the Lone Star College System Board of Trustees.”
