Red Line Shuttles Continue as City Work Crews Repair Water Main

Modified rail service on the Red Line will continue to allow City of Houston work crews to complete emergency repairs to a downtown water main located at the corner of Main Street and Congress Street. 

Free shuttle bus service will be provided between Downtown Transit Center and Burnett Transit Center stations until further notice. Patrons traveling between these points will board shuttle buses as follows:

Downtown Transit Center Station

     Northbound/Southbound - St. Joseph Parkway @ Main Street

Bell, Main Street Square, Central and Preston Stations

     Northbound – Travis Street

     Southbound – Fannin Street

UH Downtown Station

     Northbound – Wood Street @ Vine Street

     Southbound – Rothwell Street @ Vine Street

METRO personnel will be at the impacted rail platforms to offer assistance.  

Frequency during this period will be six to eight minutes. Please allow more time for your trip. 

Normal rail service will operate between Fannin South Transit Center and Downtown Transit Center stations, as well as between Burnett Transit Center and Northline Transit Center stations.

Additionally, METRO's Trip App and Next Bus Arrival Texting service may not reflect accurate departure and arrival information during this time. Please monitor METRO's Twitter and Facebook pages for timely updates. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system.
