Galveston ISD Board of Trustees

The Galveston Independent School District Board of Trustees on Wednesday voted unanimously to accept a proposal from the firm of Karczewski Bradshaw Spalding for legal counsel services.

The board voted to to endorse Tony Hopkins with Friendswood Independent School District as candidate for the Texas Association of School Boards Board of Directors.

The board voted to authorize the superintendent and attorneys to complete negotiations for the sale of property at 41st and Avenue O, as discussed in closed session.

The property, known as The Cottage, is a house that the district had acquired, and is now being sold. Trustee Mary Cazares was not present for the vote on the item.

The board voted to approve the purchase of 72-passenger diesel buses.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with trustees Dr. Jeff Temple and Johnny Smecca absent. Agenda
