Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve a tax abatement agreement for property located in the Orbit Gulf Coast Ethane Reinvestment Zone.

Under the agreement, Orbit Gulf Coast Ethane is to construct a project, new ethane facilities, with an estimated investment of $300 million. The county will abate 100 percent of the value of eligible improvements for tax purposes for 2021 and 2022. The county will abate 80 percent of the value of improvements in 2023-2024 and 60 percent in 2025-2026.

The commissioners court voted to approve a professional services agreement with The LaBiche Architecture Group, Inc. for engineering and design eservices for repairs to the Ford Park Visitors’ Center related to Hurricane Harvey.

The commissioners court voted to approve the transfer of Deputy John Ochoa from Constable Precinct No. 2 to Constable Precinct No. 8.

The commissioners court voted to approve a U.S. Locality Domain Name Registration Terms and Conditions Agreement with NeuStar, Inc. for the county’s “tx.us” domains.

NeuStar recently acquired Texas Regional Host Master, which hosts the site domains, and asked for new agreements.

The commissioners court voted to approve a lease agreement with Eco Lab for a dish machine for the correctional facility.
