Sugar Land City Council

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a resolution requesting that the Texas Municipal League seek introduction and passage of legislation in the 86thLegislative Session granting cities the right to obtain information on incidents within their jurisdiction that affect the public health of the general public and first responders, and obligating state agencies to provide immediate notice to cities when incidents occur.

Currently, the Department of State Health Services, are not required to notify the city of incidents involving hazardous materials if concentrations of the material are determined to be below acceptable levels set out by the state.

The city council voted to award an $87,275 construction contract to DVL Enterprises, LLC for the Convington Wood Streets and Sidewalk Improvements.

The city council voted to approve a date of September 18 for consideration of the adoption of the city's FY2019 Budget and and Five-Year Capital Improvement Program.

A public hearing was held on the item.

All action items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Steve Porter were absent. Council Member Jennifer Lane arrived later in the meeting and did not vote on several items. Agenda
