Houston Firefighters to Help with Hurricane Florence
News Release
Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Several Houston Firefighters are headed to the East Coast due to the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Florence.

The firefighters were deployed as part of a FEMA US&R Water Mission Ready Package to support North Carolina. They are members of Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) which was activated last night by FEMA in response to the anticipated landfall of this major hurricane.

Texas officials continue to monitor the tropical disturbance that is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico this weekend, and make landfall along the Texas coast by this Friday.
