Two victims stabbed and cut during altercation; suspect in custody
News Release
Wednesday, September 12, 2018

A 19-year old man and a 26-year old man were stabbed and cut by their roommate in the 1400 block of Edinburgh Drive at approximately 3:52 a.m. on September 12.

The residence is inhabited by employees of a local restaurant.  They were up late drinking beer when an argument started between two of the roommates. Santiago Magzul-Morales, 21, of Friendswood, grabbed a kitchen knife; he swung the knife and cut a 26-year old man with the knife.  The 26-year old victim suffered lacerations to the head, ear and neck. Another roommate, a 19-year old man, stepped in to help and was stabbed in the abdomen.  Magzul-Morales ran out of the house with the knife and tried to leave in his vehicle.  When he realized he was boxed in by other vehicles, he fled on foot into the neighborhood. Medics treated and transported the victims and officers checked the neighborhood for the suspect.  Magzul-Morales was not found until 6:18 a.m. when a resident in the 400 block of Briarmeadow called police when she noticed a man sitting at her back porch.  When police arrived, they identified the man as Santiago Magzul-Morales.

He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a first degree felony, and Aggravated Assault, a second degree felony. His bond was set at $100,000.
