Dickinson City Council on Tuesday voted 5-1, with Louis Decker opposed, to adopt a property tax rate of $0.455 per $100 valuation for the 2018 Tax Year.

Of the total tax rate, revenues from $0.380869 per $100 valuation will be dedicated to operation and maintenance of the city, while revenues from the remaining $0.074131 will be used to make payments on the city's bonded indebtedness.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the August 28 City Council Meeting, with corrections.

The city council took no action regarding a duplicate item regarding the minutes of the August 28 meeting.

The city council voted 5-1, with Wally Deats opposed, to grant a variance regarding allowable signage at 4500 FM 517 East.

The city council took no action resulting items discussed in closed session, specifically the Armstrong Lawsuit. The city council did not consider the role of the city council in the supervision of the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
