Island Transit services suspended until further notice for weather

Island Transit’s fixed routes, Dial-A-Ride and rubber wheel trolley services suspended Sept. 14.

GALVESTON, Texas – All Island Transit services are suspended until further notice because of weather conditions and street flooding occurring on the island.

Galveston is under a flash flood watch until at least 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14. As a precaution, the City has suspended services until further notice. These services include: all fixed routes, rubber wheel trolley and Dial-A-Ride.

Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for the City’s free emergency notification system by visiting and clicking on the “One Call Reaches All” banner on the City’s homepage. This system is designed to provide important alerts to citizens and will be tested prior to the start of hurricane season.
