Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners

The Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners, in a special meeting today, voted unanimously to move forward in seeking an emergency procurement of services for repair of a sinkhole.

The board voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Beaumont related to services regarding the sinkhole repair, which was on port property. The damage included a drainage line that impacts the city.

The board met in executive session to discuss pending or contemplated litigation with counsel. No action was taken as a result of the item discussed in closed session.

No other action items were on the agenda. Commissioner Bill Darling was absent. Agenda

The board also held public hearings regarding the issuance of wharf and dock bonds, and on the port’s proposed property tax rate of $0.114 per $100 valuation. No members of the public requested to address the board during the public hearings. The board will consider adoption of the tax rate at its September 24 meeting.
