Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve an agreement with the Department of the Army for the Brazos River Erosion Management Feasibility Study.

“Just for the record, this is a $3 million federal government-funded study of erosion mitigation in the Brazos River,” County Judge Robert Hebert said.

Hebert also noted that the study has been broadened to take in more of the river due to issues discovered as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Listen (1:01)

The commissioners court voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Scott Evans from the Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 4 Board of Directors and to appoint Tommy Kuykendall to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to establish the regular meeting schedule of the commissioners court for FY2019, meeting every Tuesday except the third and fifth Tuesday of the month, at 1 p.m.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a $49,843 contract to Bussell & Sons, LLC for the construction of a water supply well at the Harlem Park Sports Facilities.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reject all bids and re-advertise for a contract for elevator maintenance services.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reject all bids and re-advertise for a contract for construction management services for the Westpark Park and Ride.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve an agreement with the City of Missouri City for use of Missouri City Fire Station No. 5 to provide space for county peace officers to work.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation expenses for pre-trial and trial services related to the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Davoody M and J, LLC, et al, regarding the Spring Green Boulevard Mobility Bond Project, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation expenses in an amount not to exceed $15,000 in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. James Allen Williams, et al, regarding the Cane Island Boulevard Project, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to select counsel to serve as special counsel and file a lawsuit concerning Trapeze Software Group, Inc., as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from closed session discussions concerning Tacoma Borden claim for damages.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to negotiation with a firm for continued litigation regarding the matter Commission for Lawyer Discipline vs. Elizabeth A. Exleya, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, as discussed in closed session.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. Commissioner Grady Prestage was absent. Agenda
