Ralph Parr Elementary Celebrates 10 Years
News Release
Thursday, September 27, 2018

League City, Texas – Ralph Parr Elementary in the Clear Creek Independent School District held a community-wide celebration for its 10th anniversary on September 20, 2018. During the ceremony, former board members and Parr PTA presidents were recognized as well as 18 staff members who had been at the school since opening its doors in 2009.

“It is hard to believe that we are already in our tenth year at Ralph Parr Elementary,” said Jane Kelling, who is the school’s first and only principal. “I remember when I first visited the school when it was under construction and imagined what it would be like when it was finished and filled with teachers, students, and families. Since that day, we have had eager learners walking through our doors everyday with passionate and dedicated teachers awaiting their arrival.”

The celebration wouldn’t have been complete without a few words from the school’s namesake, Ralph Parr, who has been a staple in CCISD and in the community for many years. He shared stories from his time as a student at Webster High School to then teaching at Clear Creek High School. He also served as assistant principal of Clear Lake High School, principal at Clear Creek High School, and held a position on the CCISD Board of Trustees after his retirement until May 2009.

“Mr. Parr has joined us every year on the first day of school to welcome our Patriots and then has helped clap out our 5th graders on their last day,” said Kelling. “He has definitely supported our students and staff in tremendous ways each year. We are thankful to have his continued passion for education reflected on our campus and happy he was there to help us celebrate 10 successful years.”
