This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include The Choir of Man in Galveston and "Twelfth Night" in Houston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present The Choir of Man on Saturday at 8 p.m.

“Known across the globe as ‘the ultimate feel-good show,’ The Choir of Man offers up 90 minutes of indisputable joy,” said a news release. “It's a party. It's a concert. It's a pint-filled good time set in a working pub that combines hair-raising harmonies, high-energy dance, and live percussion with foot-stomping choreography.” News Release

The Alley Theatre kicks off its production of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through October 28.

The Alley Theatre also wraps up with “Skeleton Crew” this week, with performances on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host the 39th Annual Festival Chicano Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. each evening.

Main Street Theater in Houston continues its run of “The Book of Will”, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through October 21.

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in Galveston ends its production of “Wait Until Dark” this week.

Performances are Thursday through and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Upcoming performances include “Noises Off”, opening November 1 at COM Community Theater in Texas City, and “Calendar Girls”, presented by Beaumont Community Players and opening October 26 at the Jerry L McMillan Studio Theatre.
