County Judge With Highest Marks Across More than 80 Races

Houston – Harris County Judge Ed Emmett today responded to the resounding vote of confidence he received from area attorneys in the Houston Bar Poll.

“I am honored to have such overwhelming support from a bipartisan group of distinguished attorneys in Harris County,” said Emmett. “I have always felt this is not just a political job, but a job to keep the community safe.”

“Even though I have no judicial functions, the Houston Bar Association has seen my work in other areas,” said Emmett. “From leading emergency response to hurricanes and other natural disasters, to addressing mental health and criminal justice challenges, to improving our transportation infrastructure, I have worked with all parties to move our county forward. I am grateful to be the leading vote-getter in the Houston Bar Poll.”

Emmett received 1,278 votes from attorneys in the Houston Bar Association, or roughly 79.5 percent of the vote for county judge. The survey, released yesterday, elicited feedback from 1,825 attorneys on more than 80 mostly judicial races.
