This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “The Hound of the Baskervilles” in Dickinson and Dia de la Hispanidad in Houston.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson will kick off its production of “The Hound of the Baskervilles” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through November 4.

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host the Dia de La Hispanidad on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Miller Outdoor Theatre will also present Ramsey Lewis & Urban Knights on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the annual 1,000 Lights for Peace event on Sunday at 6 p.m.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present Aida Cuevas Totalmente Juan Gabriel on Saturday at 8 p.m.

“Known as ‘The Queen of Ranchera Music’, Grammy-Award winning ‘ranchera’ singer, Aida Cuevas, will present an amazing, one-of-a-kind mariachi performance as she pays tribute to her dear friend and greatest mentor, Juan Gabriel,” said a news release. News Release

The Grand Opera House will also present The Galveston Symphony Orchestra in concert on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Alley Theatre continues its production of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” this week.

Performances are on Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through October 28.

Main Street Theater in Houston continues its run of “The Book of Will”, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through October 21.

Upcoming performances include “Noises Off”, opening November 1 at COM Community Theater in Texas City, and “Calendar Girls”, presented by Beaumont Community Players and opening October 26 at the Jerry L McMillan Studio Theatre.
