Nassau Bay City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.74212 per $100 valuation for the 2018 Tax Year.

The adopted rate is effectively a 5.7 percent decrease in the tax rate compared to last year. Of the total tax rate, revenues from $0.697967 per $100 valuation will be dedicated to maintenance and operation of the city, while revenues from the remaining $0.044153 per $100 valuation will be used to make payments on the city's bonded indebtedness.

The city council voted unanimously to deny any extension for work on property at 18223 Cape Bahamas Lane related to mitigation efforts under its deed of trust lien, and to proceed with enforcement measures.

The city council voted unanimously to extend time for work on mitigation efforts at 18502 Capetown.

The city council voted unanimously to rename St. John Drive to Houston Methodist Drive.

The city council took no action resulting from closed session discussionse regarding economic development negotiations concerning 2050 Space Park Drive.

The city council voted unanimously to move forward as discussed in executives session regarding personnel matters with the city manager.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
