Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to submit projects to the Houston-Galveston Area Council for the 2018 Transportation Improvement Plan.

Projects include widening of County Road 64 from County Road 48 to State Highway 288; widening of County Road 44 from State Highway 288 to Loop 274; extension of the Pearland Parkway from Dixie Farm Road to County Road 129; and improvements along County Road 220 from west of State Highway 288 to the Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt proclamations in recognition of Alzheimer's Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Texas Extension Education Association Week.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to renew a contract for indigent healthcare administration software. The item was amended to change the date from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2019.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a contract with Garry Flying Service, Inc. for aerial mosquito spraying. The item was amended to change the amount from $0.020 to $0.0175 per acre.

The commissioners court discussed, but took no action regarding sheriff and constable fees.

The commissioners court took no action regarding appointment of an evaluation committee for massage therapy services. The item was withdrawn.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the district attorney to file suit against the estate of Jackie Cossin, Amy Kadlecek, Robbie Hall and/or any other responsible party for violations of the Texas Health and Safety Code, Texas Local Government Code, and/or Texas Administrative Code in connection with operations at or near 167 Cossin Road in Angleton, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to amend a previous order to authorize the district attorney to file suit against parties involving the denial of access to a dedicated platted road/public right-of-way at property 1011 County Road 192. The item was amended to authorize the district attorney to seek a declaratory judgment and any other relevant causes of action concerning the road/public right-of-way, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from any other items discussed in closed session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
