Man Found Stabbed near 40th & Sealy
News Release
Friday, October 12, 2018

On Friday morning, October 12th, 2018 at approximately 8:12am Galveston Police were dispatched to the 4000 block of Sealy to check the welfare of an unconscious male.  Upon arrival, officers discovered 49-year-old Walton Taylor to be unresponsive and profusely bleeding after apparently being stabbed.  Walton was immediately transported to JSER by Galveston EMS where he was pronounced deceased.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division as well as investigators with the Crime Scene Unit responded to begin processing the scene for forensic evidence and canvasing the area for any possible witnesses.  During their canvas, detectives took statements from several individuals that saw Walton speaking with another individual just minutes prior to the 911 call, and spoke with other witnesses that saw the same individual leaving the area sometime after.  Detectives have identified a person of interest in this case and believe that they knew the victim.  Initial statements indicate the pre-existence of a long-standing feud between the person of interest and the victim; however, this is still yet to be confirmed.

If anyone has any information regarding this case, they are encouraged to call Detectives at 409-765-3781 or Crime Stoppers at 409-763-TIPS.
