Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a resolution encouraging eligible residents to vote in the upcoming Fort Bend Independent School District $992.6 million bond referendum.

The bond referendum is on the November 6 ballot.

“The bonds, if approved, will be used to address capital needs related to new construction, enhance the safety and security of schools across the district, make renovations to address maintenance and adequacy for all schools, and provide for the district's transportation and technology needs,” stated the resolution.

The city council voted to award a $205,020 contract to Evergreen Slateparks for the construciton of the city skatepark.

The city council voted to adopt resolutions attesting to the city's consent to an assignment of an economic development agreement and tax abatements by HPC-Seefried BB, LLC to Hou Ind 3, LLC.

The resolutions allow an economic development agreement and tax abatements for the Best Buy distribution center in Missouri City to continue following transfer of ownership of the property.

The city council voted to adopt a resolution supporting the United States Census Bureau by creating a Census 2020 “Complete Count Committee.”

The item was amended to include seeking homeowners association representation on the committee.
