Jefferson County Commissioners Court

Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the county judge to execute the articles of agreement between the county and the Jefferson County Deputy Constables Association.

The agreement takes effect today and continues through September 30, 2022 and is the result of collective bargaining concerning constable wages and other matters. As part of the agreement, constables will receive an across-the-board 3 percent pay increase effective immediately. Constables will then receive 2.5 percent across-the-board increases effective October 1 each following year of the agreement.

The commissioners court voted to award a contract to Southeast Texas Building Service, Inc. for janitorial services for the county.

The commissioners court voted to authorize the county purchasing agent to enter into contract negotiations for emergency debris monitoring services.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a proclamation for the 16th Annual Harvest of Hope for Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas in honor of the Bordages Family.

The commissioners court voted to grant an overweight vehicle permit and road use agreement to Ballard Exploration Company to move heavy haul drilling rig equipment from Aggie Road and Sour Lake.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution recognizing Todd K. Richards for 34 years and 1 month of dedicated service to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and wishing him well in his retirement.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Brent Weaver absent. Agenda
