Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to propose a new Park and Ride facility at the University of Houston Sugar Land Campus for inclusion in the Houston-Galveston Area Council's 2018 Call for Projects.

The county is seeking $42,251,000 in funds, with a local match of $8,450,200 to be leveraged with a land lease value of $8,450,200 donated by the university in lieu of a local cash match.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to propose the inclusion of commuter services to Downtown Houston in the H-GAC's 2018 Call for Projects.

The request for funding totals $6,159,460 with a local match amount of $875,000 to be requested as Transportation Development Credits.

If the credits are not approved, the local match will be provided by the county.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a retainer agreement for redistricting services with Allison, Bass & Magee, LLP for assistance with issues regarding the 2020 Census and redistricting professional services.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Yanting Li to waive penalty and interest totaling $315.15 on property taxes for Tax Year 2017.

The commissioners court took no action regarding a request by Ramakrishna Thirugnanasambandam to waive penalty and interest totaling $208.25 on property taxes for Tax Year 2017.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Jaymeen Bhavsar on behalf of BB&K Investments, LLC, to waive penalty and interest totaling $627.85 on property taxes for tax years 2013 and 2014.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Ginny Chen to waive penalty and interest totaling $597.46 on property taxes for Tax Year 2017.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Areemit Nukrit and Yuk Ching Poon to waive penalty and interest totaling $1,113 on property taxes for Tax Year 2017.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Ty Ong to waive penalty and interest totaling $69.53 on property taxes for Tax Year 2017.

(Updated) The commissioners court voted unanimously to grant an exemption to the competitive bid process for the purchase of West Proflex online services from Thomson Reuters for the Law Library.

The item had been pulled from the agenda, but was brought back for consideration after executive session. Commissioner Grady Prestage was not present at the time of the vote.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a contract to Bass Construction for the construction of the Mission Bend Community Center.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a $38,506 contract to Backwater Fence, LLC for chain-link fencing for the Sheriff's Office.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a contract to MCA Communications, Inc. for voice and data cabling.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a settlement agreement United States Department of Health and Human Services, as discussed in executive session.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding jail magistration processes.
