Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to appoint judge-elect Roy Castillo to fill the vacancy for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 2.

Castillo will fill the interim until he takes the position officially in January. He is unopposed in the November 6 General Election. He succeeds Judge Gordon Starkenburg, who is retiring.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a resolution in honor of Starkenburg on his retirement. Resolution

The commissioners court voted unanimously issued a proclamation in observance of Veterans Day, which is on November 11. Proclamation

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Dena Hanks to the Library Board.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize advertising for proposals for the construction of a maintenance shop with ranger station.

The commissioners court took no action resulting from items discussed in executive session.
